The Flag Company Inc And Solar Powered Lightings

By Donna Alfa

Solar energy is radiant light and heat. Each year the earth receives many times more energy than all the people in the world can consume, and more than the total energy reserves on earth. The sun irradiates 174 petaWatts or approx. 8,000 times more energy to the Earth's surface than the total human need for energy.

Solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available, and the U.S. has some of the richest solar resources in the world. Modern technology can harness this energy for a variety of uses, including generating electricity, providing light or a comfortable interior environment, and heating water for domestic, commercial, or industrial use.

Sunlight is composed of miniscule particles called photons, which radiate from the sun. As these hit the silicon atoms of the solar cell, they transfer their energy to loose electrons, knocking them clean off the atoms. The photons could be compared to the white ball in a game of pool, which passes on its energy to the colored balls it strikes.

Solar lights work even after cloudy days. During daylight, even when overcast, the solar panels’ “solar generators” charge long-life batteries, which store the energy until needed, up to 5 days for Sol. Solar electricity is no longer a fringe idea. With photoelectric solar cells and a complete photovoltaic power system, your flagpole lighting can easily reduce the electricity consumption needed from the grid and can literally reverse the spin of your electrical meter by generating more energy than the amount you are consuming.

The U.S. Code states that: "It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic effect is desired, the flag may be displayed twenty-four hours a day if properly illuminated during the hours of darkness." Flagpole Lighting is ideal for lighting up flag poles so there is no longer the need to lower your flag at dusk anymore. You can install the light and panel at the bottom of the flag pole.

There is a barrage of cheap solar powered flagpole lightings being imported and sold, that do not comply with the flag statute. This is bad for a number of reasons. Imported stuff is cheaply made and more importantly, the designs, materials, colors, and methods do not compare well with the better quality, longer-lasting, and correctly designed flagpole lightings made by American manufacturers. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flags and flagpole lightings offered a special edition of solar powered flagpole lightings to provide innovative solutions for individual projects.
