Create A Faux Lawn With Synthetic Grass Florida

By Anna Lewis

Having the best yard in the neighborhood has always been a friendly competition in most communities. For those who live in areas where there is sand rather than dirt, establishing extensive greenery is problematic, and expensive. However, by laying out synthetic grass Florida homeowners have the ability to enjoy a luxurious lawn without the expense of shipped-in dirt or the waste of watering.

Living in a state that boasts frequent hurricanes creates yet another conflict when attempting to establish and maintain lawns. Truly, it has been a wasteful and vain endeavor, as all fill dirt and sod will surely be washed away each and every time a hurricane comes through. Even the wealthiest homeowners understand the flagrant waste of fresh water that a lawn represents.

Golf clubs and indoor sporting venues created a demand for better artificial sod. Now these products are available to the average homeowner, so anyone living in states with sand rather than dirt can have what appears to be a healthy lawn to enjoy. It looks and feels very much like the real thing, and it can be tapped down, or simply rolled up and stored when the storms are anticipated.

Those who suffer from allergies to natural grasses are now able to roll down the hillside without suffering hay fever as a result. Pets do not have to worry about getting fleas, as such insects generally do not thrive in faux turf. These products are not toxic to people, and as a rule they are fairly benign to the environment where they are installed.

Rubber and mulch are the traditional linings for most church and school playgrounds. Both products contained dyes which have not always been a sound option for the environment, and can be dangerous to both pets and small children. In addition, they did not provide the same level ground that artificial turf boasts, and there were many falls suffered as a result.

Keeping elderly parents and grandparents safe from falls is just as vital a service as keeping children safe. As such, assisted living communities and nursing homes have a great need for the health and safety benefits of artificial turf. College campuses are another locale which should consider utilizing fake ground cover rather than natural landscapes.

For temporary gatherings or sporting events, many companies will rent their product for a period of time. This can make the gathering area more pleasing to the eye, safer to navigate on foot, and when placed over existing lawns during a temporary gathering of people, it prevents the lawn areas from being damaged due to the sudden flood of people traversing the area.

In order to truly enjoy the benefits of this product, the property owner is encouraged to hire a professional to install the turf. The first step is removal of at least two feet of sod, soil, and rocks, and the final step involves adhering the turf to the medium with an adhesive. Professional installation is the best way to ensure that all these steps are taken, and the artificial landscape is going to last.
