Why Timber Lands, Woodlands, And Forests Should Be Protected

By Susan Green

They stand tall and majestic and they give humans the oxygen to breathe. Trees have been in existence since the formation of the planet. It is ever present in the surroundings now as it was before. There are two fundamental types, the deciduous species, and the coniferous ones. Landscapers use these to beautify residences and open spaces. Retaining its majestic form is the specialty of tree trimming tampa.

These everlasting plants all have the same basic characteristics. These always have main trunks, supporting branches and leaves that catch sunlight which fuels its growth through photosynthesis. Roots dig deep into the earth to extract nutrient from the soil. The species are survivors and can exist without human intervention. This is evidenced by the existence of rainforests, woodlands, jungles, and timberlands.

Humans have utilized this nature given resource since its very existence. The first man made structures were made of timber and leaves. The technological leap of making tools and knowing how to use them enabled man to exploit this resource. Even in present times lumberjacks still fell trees using heavy axes and huge chainsaws. Lumber businesses employ power tools and heavy equipment for its operations.

Not only do the species offer a steady supply of construction material, but it also is the main food source. Fruit bearing ones provide man with a balanced diet, it is offered as desserts, or as after meal delicacies. The agriculture industry began planting rows upon rows of this food source type. Presently we call it orchards and is a big industry by itself. The result of this mass production can be seen by the large quantities sold in markets around the world.

Open space designers often use trees to make a dramatic impact in a particular setting. There are other reasons for this. It can be an aesthetic screen or wall to achieve a certain degree of privacy. It can be employed as a highlight to a particular scene. Open and uninteresting spaces can be transformed into a superlative place of dynamism and natural beauty.

These species thrive very well when properly trimmed. This will make them healthy, strong, and pleasing to the naked eye. Knowing the when, where, why, who and how to do pruning and practicing base principles, having a good tree is very achievable. Trimming has many reasons which have to do with a health, artistry, and safety. Pruning will perk fruit production and quality wood.

For safety reasons, pruning is done by cutting off dead branches or branches that might fall and cause damage to property or injury to a person. Parts that obscure streets or driveway should be removed. Leaves and other parts that overlap power lines should also be discarded. Dangers can easily be avoided by selecting ones that will not overgrow the space allotted to it.

Foliage has to be well kept and maintained by getting rid of insect infested parts and those that are decayed or in the process of decay. Severing the outcrops will add to positive aeration and eradicate insects. The living things are also prone to injury and by cutting some twigs, the wound can be healed faster. It will help in developing healthy trunks that can stand against the ravages of nature.

An environmental crisis is now present as more and more woodlands are disappearing because of human activity. Large tracts of woodlands are being cleared to make way for residential, industrial, commercial, and agricultural endeavors. This has caused an ecological imbalance which has adversely affected biodiversity. Governments the world over have united in mitigating the negative effects of economic activities.
