Useful Information Regarding Pull Type Spreaders

By Michael Robinson

The application of fertilizer on a lawn is a very important process that ensures proper growth and improves appearance. Fertilizer revitalizes growth, which leads to a better appearance. In fact, application of fertilizer is a very important part of lawn care process. Fertilizers are usually made in the form of granules, which makes application a bit easier. Fertilizers only work if they are applied in the correct manner and in good time. Here are facts regarding Pull type spreaders.

Using the correct tools is considered part of proper application of fertilizers. In that case, the correct tool is a spreader. Spreaders vary in terms of types, but one common type is the pull type spreader. Just like the name suggests, the tool normally spreads granules on the ground as it is pulled behind. There are only a few varieties of spreaders that can be pulled by hand while the rest are large and need to be pulled by a tractor or some other kind of force.

Using spreaders on lawns presents several advantages and benefits. First, it is possible to apply fertilizers on a huge piece of land without needing help. That means that this equipment reduce labor requirements. One person can seed a very large piece of lawn within a very short period of time.

Another reason that makes spreaders more preferable is that they produce better results. Spreaders apply fertilizers uniformly. This means that each part of the lawn gets an equal amount of fertilizer granules. As a result, performance and growth occurs equally across the lawn. In case the equipment was being used to plant seed, the uniformity with which the seed is spread ensures uniform germination and maximum return.

Spreaders usually have a fairly simple design. However, it is important to choose the right kind of equipment for the job that one intend to perform. There are certain basic considerations that one must put in mind when they are making a choice of equipment to buy. One of the major considerations is the size of the area that needs to be fertilized.

Another important consideration is the shape of the area under consideration. The shape is defined by the presence or absence of curves, corners, and lines. The sharpness of the curve and corners is an important consideration. Consideration about the shape of the area is more important when the spreader being used is mechanized.

The terrain of the land being fertilized is of great importance to consider too. The degree of precision that one needs to achieve is also an important factor for consideration. Different products are designed with different levels of precision. If the equipment can allow for regulation of the level of precision and the amount of granules released per unit time, it would be better.

Cost is yet another variable. Cost differs depending on the manufacturer, size, model, country of origin, accuracy of the equipment, fuel consumption and many others. If one owns a large piece of land, they will require a huge spreader, which translates to more costs. One can also opt to lease the tool from rental stores and after application of the fertilizer, they can take it back.
